About Hacienda Puerta Campeche

Centrally located in the coastal colonial town of Campeche, the Hacienda Puerta Campeche is a historical hotel that has added luxurious details to the colonial remanents of a 17th century hacienda. Quite literally, some parts of the architecture have been left as ruins that ingeniously blend with fully restored buildings, giving the visitor a sense that they are dwelling in an archeological site- but a luxurious one.

Inside the brightly colored exterior, you will find spacious and exquisitely decorated guestrooms that do not lack for refinement, despite the rustic setting.

You will find no shortage of relaxing lounge areas overlooking the pools and gardens.

The hacienda is an ideal basecamp for day excursions to nearby historical and nature sites, including the town of Becal where you can watch local artisans hand make their signature Panama hats.

The hacienda features fifteen rooms and suites that have been fully restored and adapted. Most of the guestrooms feature 18-foot ceilings with inside exposed beams and rafters; narrow, 10-foot-high, wooden double doors; comfortable beds and cabinets made of dark, tropical hardwoods; cool tile floors; and large, bulbous pegs set into the stone walls for hanging hand-woven hammocks; enjoy a siesta, Yucatec style.
