APR 16 & 17: Cabo Marine Show
Cabo San Lucas will be celebrating its first annual Cabo Marine Show which takes place Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17, 2010, along the marina in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur. Boating and sailing enthusiasts from North America, and their suppliers, will converge at the Cabo San Lucas Marina with its breathtaking backdrop of the Sea of Cortes and the famous arch at Land's end. Charter companies and water activities promoters of sport fishing, boating and luxury yachting as well as resorts and marinas, hotels and world-class golf courses, will have an opportunity to make themselves known to the select Los Cabos travel market, its visitors and the eyes of the international travel media. www.cabomarineshow.com
APR 16-29: Annual Mexico City Festival (Festival del Centro Historico) -- Mexico City
Regarded as one of Latin America's most vibrant celebrations of art and culture, this two-week festival features diverse events including opera, concerts, theater, art exhibits, dance productions and gourmet fare. More than a million local and international spectators will flock to Mexico City for the festival, and proceeds go toward the rescue and restoration of the art and architecture of Mexico City's historic downtown area.
APR 22-24: 57th Annual Newport Beach to Ensenada International Yacht Race -- Ensenada, Baja California
Yachting competition originating in Newport Beach, California to Ensenada with more than 50 participating yachts, featuring a festival and ceremony upon their arrival in Ensenada
APR 30: Rosarito-Ensenada Fun Ride -- Rosarito Beach, Baja California
Head south of the border with 10,000 of your closest amigos for this fun ride along the Pacific Coast and inland through rural countryside from Rosarito Beach to Ensenada, Mexico. The event course is 50 miles of paved highway on the old Free Road from Rosarito Beach south to the city of Ensenada. Avid cyclists should finish in two hours, with the average time to complete being 4 1/2 hours.
APR 30th - Children's Day in Mexico
Not a holiday, but it is traditional to give children small presents on this day.
Late APR - Mid MAR: Feria de San Marcos (St Mark’s Fair), Aguascalientes
Over a million people descend upon the colonial city of Aguascalientes during April and May for the Feria de San Marcos, Mexico's largest. Exact dates vary each year although the fair starts around the second or third week of April and runs through to early or mid May. Festival seekers come to see the bull-fights, concerts, fun-fair, rodeos, art displays, music, dance and other cultural events; and to gamble at the fair's temporary casino. Gambling is currently illegal throughout Mexico, but the Feria de San Marcos operates a 'specially licensed' casino. Traditional Mexican and regional food and drink is available everywhere, and parties go on throughout the night!
