Conference Venues in Mexico
Depending on the type of event, you might be restricted to the choice of location. For example, if you plan to hold a major business conference, there are only three cities in Mexico with facilities large enough to host for big conferences: Mexico City, Monterrey and Cancun. The city of Mazatlan, on the Pacific Coast, is currently building Mexico's fourth major conference center which should be operational by early 2010. Other Mexican cities have facilities for smaller conference events; our group travel consultants will be able to advise you.
Type of Location
Mexico offers a variety of location types for your venue. If you want to be by the ocean, you have a wide choice of Beach Locations.
Inland, Colonial Cities can provide an historical and cultural setting -- as well as a temperate climate -- for your event.
Mexico's Big Cities offer easy access by air and road and are also host to some of the country's most sophisticated conference centers.
You may also choose to hold your event surrounded by a beautiful and serene Nature setting, at an eco hotel or resort for your event.
Some hotels are near Archeology Parks and, although you can't hold the event at the archaeology site itself, you can, for example, be right next-door with views to the park at a hotel or resort in Chichen Itza, Uxmal or Palenque.

Seasonal Variations
Another consideration to take into account is the season in which you will hold your event. Mexico is situated in the northern hemisphere, and so its seasons follow that of the US, Canada and Europe, albeit winters are (generally) mild and summers can be very hot and humid in some areas.
Most coastal locations provide year-round warmth, while inland colonial cities (and big cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara) offer more temperate climates because their altitude. Monterrey, in the north, can be cold in the winter months.
Mexico's climates also vary by region: the country's northern regions are typified by desert landscapes; the central regions are sub-tropical, while the southern areas consist of tropical jungle in some areas.
The rainy season (for affected areas) runs between May and September (inclusive) each year. During these months, days tend to be hot, dry (or humid by the coast) and bright, with heavy monsoon rains arriving in the late afternoon, drenching the landscape and passing, leaving the evenings rain-free and cooled down.

Choosing the Date for Your Event
Another aspect to consider is the annual calendar of events: Christmas and New Year, Easter and the Summer Holidays (June through August) are always 'high season' in Mexico, which means that flights will cost more, venues will be more expensive and there will be less availability. Try to avoid these "peak" periods to save money and also have a better selection of available venues.
